Site Summary: One of the American West’s most famous boomtowns, Tombstone’s population swelled to 10,000 people in eight years, only to be mostly abandoned a year later. The Tombstone Courthouse was constructed as the Cochise County seat in 1882. During its use until 1931, the courthouse was used by a number of the “Old West’s” more famous and infamous personalities.
