Site Summary: Built by the Douglas family in 1916, the mansion was designed to be used as a hotel for mining officials in the copper mining community of Jerome, Arizona, as well as a home for the family. The building was an architectural landmark from the day construction started, using local adobe bricks, and featured high-technology innovations such as a central vacuum system.
The mansion house is now a museum dedicated to the interpretation of the history of Jerome and copper mining in the region.
