Notes: The hikes to Betatakin and Keet Seel are generally available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Site Summary: Navajo National Monument provides access to two very well preserved cliff dwellings of the Kayentan tradition. Occupied from AD 1100 to 1200, these sites are some of the best preserved Ancestral Puebloan villages in all of Arizona.

Please note that the hike to Keet Seel requires reservations well in advance of your visit, as group size is limited on a daily basis.


Getting There:
    Major highways transit the Navajo Nation; paved AZ Hwy 564 turns north off US-160 at Black Mesa, and leads to the Visitor Center.
