Site Summary: The Hopi Indians live on three mesas in northeastern Arizona. The Village of Oraibi, on Third Mesa, is arguably one of the oldest continually inhabited towns in North America.

The Hopi Mesas represent a very special place of the past and present. Because of the unique nature of this place, it is strongly advised to read the Hopi Tribe's Visitor information links before your visit. Please note that certain Hopi towns may be off limits to visitors on certain days and times.

Getting There: Two paved roads connect the Reservation to I- 40, about 35 miles south of the reservation border. Highway 77 begins east of Holbrook, and joins Highway 264 just east of Keams Canyon. Highway 87 begins just east of Winslow and joins Highway 264 at the base of Second Mesa. Highway 264 is the only paved road that traverses the Reservation from east to west.
