Editorial Policy:

Southwest Archaeology Today will provide subscribers with timely links to information about current developments in southwestern archaeology, southwestern history, and historic preservation. Government, academic, avocational, not-for-profit and cultural resource management firms or organizations are particularly encouraged to submit announcements or links concerning these topics for inclusion in the newsletter. Messages that do not pertain to these topics will not be included in SAT mailings.

History:

In 1995, Brian Kenny started swanet and the Got Caliche news service. Through its various iterations the news service served as a basic information network to keep subscribers informed about current developments in southwestern archaeology, southwestern history, and historic preservation. (Soon-to-be-Dr.) Kenny is evolving swanet.org and Got Caliche into a new concept for sharing information, but in the mean time the Center for Desert Archaeology recognizes a need to keep an information network functioning for the southwestern archaeology community.
